Resonance seeks to alter the atmosphere of a given enclosure, calling attention to the fragile levels of perception. A large goal of Resonance is to bring the visitor to a sensitive level of experience, where each sense of the experiencer must come into contact with the piece to be valued, embodying the spontanuity of each exhibit and site.
The exhibition offers a diverse approach to how audio-based installations and performances can be percieved and how a given environment allows for the works to be experienced. Six artists and six varying place settings offering a multitude ofinterpretations for the viewer.
The participants have been selected from variousbackgrounds and disciplines, ranging from classical to experimental music, sound art and noise. In varying methods, the installations are tuned to both heighten the relationship of element and enclosure as well as to test the volumetric intimacy of spaces.
Resonance 2005 represents the initiator in a continuing exhibition series. Further sites and participants will continue to develop and reinterpret the exhibitions theme. The concept can transverse, however the installations and places chosen cannot. The manifest of the project begins in Stockholm.
