"Exactly at midnight on the night to the nineteenth of July 2004, a sound recording was started in a room in the Sˆdermalm district of Stockholm. The recording was done with two microphones placed by different windows, lasting exactly twenty four hours. All sounds accumulated in the room and from the adjacent street were recorded. However, none of the sounds were consciosly generated for the recording.

The purpose of the recording was to study the relationship between time, room and sound. Which sounds are generated in a room and the nearby environment under the duration of twentyfour hours.What does it sound like when all these sounds are exhibited in just one hour?

The piece MMIV.VII.XIX is the result of the study."
