„The piece is built around field recordings of water. Drops, rain, boiling water etc. Four sound sources play the same track, each track 15 seconds longer than the previous. This creates an effect where each individual track drifts slowly off synch from one another. They will begin to slowly drift around the room and eventually, in a few days or so, return back to synch.

The piece is an experiment on how the sound will behave once individual sounds meet and drift apart, creating echos, delays and phaser effects with one another. New spaces and emotions are born. Water as an element is something that is greater than any of us. We are made of mostly water, it is the essence of life on our planet, it gives and it takes. We are at its mercy. neljä.virtaa is a tribute to this element that creates and destroys life.„
